The meeting of Dumfries & Galloway Full Council on 27th February will pick one of these people to be Chair of the Town Board, responsible for recruiting his/her Board, producing a long term plan for the town and directing the spending of the £20 million UK govt money. What Dumfries will be like in 10 years time will depend a lot on this choice.
Only the Councillors have a vote but you can write to them if you wish.

Anyone wishing to watch the meeting can do so at the Fleischers Arms pub which will open from 10.30am on Tuesday 27th February. The meeting begins at 10.30am and this is item 9 on the agenda. (That means it probably won't be heard for a wee while but I don't want to guess how long it will be before they get to it).
